How you can help the Linux revolution

Think you cant do anything to help the Linux revolution? Think again.
Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, created Linux because he could not afford his own personal version of the UNIX operating system. So, after creating Linux he released it for free and made it open-source so that other people could tweak it to their liking. This is exactly why Linux is so popular and so secure.
Linux, however has hardly any users compared to the billions of people that use Windows. Linux however is gaining popularity very fast and huge companies that once shunned Linux such as IBM and Oracle are now developing software for it.
The best thing you can do to help the Linux revolution is code software for it. You can code anything for Linux as long as it is software, Games, Browsers, etc. If you are not a coder the first thing you should do is get your own version of Linux and dump Windows if you are running it. Next, go to any open source sites such as sourceforge.com and find a Linux project and help beta-test it. You can also convince your school ( if you?re a student ) to install Linux as its primary operating system and to teach all its students how to use Linux. Another thing you can do is make all your friends who have computers to install Linux. If you?re the leader kind of person you can start a group of Linux users that discuss Linux issues and exchange Linux software.
If more and more people use Linux, hardware companies will start making Linux drivers for their hardware and make sure that it is compatible with Linux. Yes, you can make a difference, even if it may seem insignificant you are doing something for the Linux community.
