New Koders Smart Search Service Notifies and Enables Easy Access to Reuseable Source Code for Developers Using Eclipse and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
Santa Monica, California, November 15, 2005 ? Koders?, Inc., creators of sophisticated tools that enable organic code reuse and improve developer productivity, today launched the Early Access Program for the company?s Eclipse and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET plug-ins to introduce their new Smart Search Service and localization support. With the enhanced plug-ins, developers can easily locate source code indexed by Koders.com from within their chosen development environments. The new plug-in enhancements continue Koders? dedication to improving developer productivity and increasing reuse of existing code.
Koders Smart Search Service provides developers with code reuse recommendations in real-time, by monitoring new code as it is created and visually notifying developers of opportunities to reuse existing code from Koders.com. The new plug-ins also introduce language localization support for English, German, Russian and Hindi. Developers can localize the plug-ins for additional languages and submit their changes for inclusion and credit in future releases. Support for users behind proxies has also been enhanced.
The Koders plug-ins enable developers to quickly and easily search Koders.com, the largest source code search engine containing over 225 millions lines of source code, written in more than 30 programming languages including Java, C, C++, C#, Perl, Python, Ruby, Visual Basic.Net and many others. Results from tens of thousands of
open source software projects from leading universities, consortiums and organizations including Apache, Mozilla, Novell Forge, SourceForge, and others are included.
?One of the features most requested by developers has been integration of the Koders.com search capability directly into their IDEs. By expanding the reach of Koders to the desktop, we are assisting developers at the point when they need us most - during application development,? said Darren Rush, CEO and co-founder of Koders, Inc. ?The new plug-in enhancements have the potential to transform the way developers write code by actively providing recommendations for code reuse while they work.?
The Early Access Program for the Koders? Plug-ins with the Smart Search Service and localization support will begin November 15, 2005 and continue through December 31, 2005. Developers wishing to continue using Koders premium services after the EAP may do so by becoming a Professional level subscriber at Koders.com.
