The first release of Mozilla Sunbird
Date: Tuesday, February 08 2005 Topic: Industry Updates
The Mozilla Foundation has launched the first version of its open-source calendar.
Mozilla has released Sunbird 0.2 as a standalone product that can be used on Windows, Linux and Apple platforms. Mozilla also plans to integrate Sunbird with its Thunderbird e-mail system.
The Sunbird Project is a redesign of the Mozilla Calendar component. The goal is to produce a cross platform standalone calendar application based on Mozilla's XUL user interface language. At the moment the Sunbird name is a project name. It is not official and may change in the future.
The intended user is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird and wants a calendar application based on Mozilla.
