Open Source Software Consultancy Recognized for High Level of Quality Management Practices

ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 26, 2010 – Demonstrating the highest standard of accountability and customer service principles, The Linux Box, a software development company specializing in open source technology, has earned ISO 9001:2008 certification.

The International Organization for Standardization is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards.

“The principles behind our approach to customer service mirror the attributes of the ISO certification requirements,” said Elizabeth Ziph, CEO and co-founder of The Linux Box. “Our clients have come to expect and we have always delivered nothing less than the highest level of customer service and professionalism.”

In order to achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification, companies must meet eight quality management principles: customer focus, leadership, involvement of the organization’s people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. The Linux Box was previously ISO 9001:2000 certified in May 2007. ISO certification is valid for three years and companies must complete a yearly audit.
