Zenoss and Plixer Team Up to Offer Free NetFlow Monitoring

Austin, TX – November 11th, 2009 - Zenoss Inc., a leading commercial open source provider of Unlegacy IT systems and network management products and network performance management provider Plixer International, today announced free integration between Plixer's Scrutinizer NetFlow and sFlow Analyzer products with the Zenoss Core open source monitoring project. The Scrutinizer NetFlow and sFlow Analyzer ZenPack, now available for free, was previously provided as part of the Zenoss Enterprise commercial product.
Plixer's Scrutinizer NetFlow and sFlow Analyzer product provides detailed network utilization information that enables network engineers to quickly find and resolve network performance bottlenecks before they impact customers and end-users. The Scrutinizer NetFlow and sFlow Analyzer ZenPack is an extension to Zenoss Core that allows network engineers to quickly switch between viewing event details in Zenoss and detailed network traffic analysis in Scrutinizer, providing even greater visibility into network health and performance.
The addition of the Scrutinizer ZenPack augments Zenoss' range of network monitoring capabilities, which now includes over 50 community contributed monitoring extensions called ZenPacks, that monitor the performance and availability of both network devices and network services. Zenoss supports monitoring routers, switches, and firewalls from all the major network vendors including Cisco and Juniper. Zenoss also offers advanced network discovery that automatically creates a topology map showing network dependencies. Using this topology map, customers can quickly understand exactly how a network outage will impact their IT environment.
