Zenoss Enterprise provides Carlson with cost savings, speed of deployment and ability to meet tight security requirements

Annapolis, MD – September 15, 2009 - Zenoss Inc., provider of the next generation alternative to legacy enterprise IT operations management solutions, today announced Carlson, a global group of companies providing hotel, marketing, restaurant and travel services directly to consumers, corporations and government entities, has deployed Zenoss Enterprise for its network monitoring.

“For a company our size, it is essential to take advantage of the newer offerings in the marketplace. If you have a group of intelligent IT folks, you can deploy data collection with Zenoss in weeks versus the months it could take other solutions. We believe Zenoss has the potential to do a lot of things for Carlson and think the best is yet to come,” said Paul Hubbard, senior director of operations for IT at Carlson.

Zenoss Enterprise, which easily integrated with Carlson’s current systems, collects data from the company’s IT infrastructure and shares that with their capacity and planning tools. The solution was deployed in a week’s time at the Minneapolis-based company headquarters, composed of a variety of brands including the Radisson Hotels & Resorts®, T.G.I. Friday’s® and Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM.

With over 1,500 servers (HPUX, Windows, Solaris), Carlson was looking to insource its network monitoring. One key issue for Carlson was maintaining Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and ideally this meant finding an agentless monitoring solution.

After reviewing solutions from other vendors, Carlson chose Zenoss Enterprise due to its competitive pricing model and ease of deployment. Additionally, Zenoss Enterprise is agentless, enabling information retrieval out of the PCI environment without violating Carlson’s security policies or needing them to be rewritten.

“Enterprises don’t want to swap one complex tool for another. Zenoss Enterprise is a cost effective, flexible and easy to deploy solution that saves large companies like Carlson time and money. These benefits coupled with our service level agreement, legal indemnification and certified build make Zenoss the ideal option for enterprises,” said Bill Karpovich, Zenoss co-founder and CEO.
