Spanish Fork, Utah – Cluster Resources, Inc. announced today the Novell SUSE Linux and HP hardware validation of their cluster and grid solutions, Moab Cluster Suite and Moab Grid Suite, through the Novell/HP Validation Program for high performance computing (HPC).

The SUSE Validation Suite contains a variety of HPC applications certified through a Validation Program implemented by HP and Novell. The program allows for an application to receive certification when it installs and runs seamlessly with other validation suite solutions in an established HPC architectural setup. Cluster Resources used the program to certify the integration of the Moab products with the other validated components. The validation further demonstrates Moab's heterogeneous nature and provides an industry leading cluster and grid workload management solution to HP and Novell customers.

“We are proud to see Moab Cluster Suite and Grid Suite become an effective part of this validated cluster and grid solution,” said Michael Jackson, President of Cluster Resources, Inc. “HP and SUSE users can implement the Moab products to increase their system utilization up to 90 to 99 percent, a rate that is commonly 10 to 30 percent higher than that achieved without Moab.”

Moab Cluster Suite is a professional cluster management solution that integrates scheduling, managing, monitoring and reporting of cluster workloads. It simplifies and unifies management across one or multiple hardware, operating system, storage, network, license and resource manager environments to help increase the ROI of the cluster investment. Moab Grid Suite performs the same functions as the Cluster Suite, but with added benefits such as peer-to-peer capabilities and seamless job and data migration.

By visiting www.clusterresources.com/eval, users of SUSE on HP systems can download an evaluation copy of Moab Cluster Suite. The Moab products also run on a variety of operating systems such as other Linux/UNIX distributions, Mac OS X and Windows.

The Moab Suites join the list of SUSE validated applications with other valuable HPC solutions from leading vendors on HP's testbed, such as Novell's SUSE Linux and Scali's Scali Manage product. The validated applications demonstrate support for the SUSE Linux operating system, Scali Manage system management software, and other tools such as cluster management, workload management, resource management and application virtualization. Novell and HP have created the Validation Program to deliver a trusted high performance computing solution stack on Linux.

“Moab helps add a valuable management layer to the most complete validated solution suite available for high-performance and grid computing,” said Jonathan Ryskamp, Partner Program Manager for Cluster Resources.

The validated solution, including Moab, is available for purchase directly from HP. Local HP representatives can provide more details.
