WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Lawyers for Microsoft Corp. and the U.S. Justice Department told a federal judge on Wednesday their proposed antitrust settlement was better than what could be achieved by further litigation and urged its quick approval.

Saris issued a preliminary injunction on the lesser of two issues under consideration late last week, after MySQL and Progress Software failed to come to the out-of-court settlement she urged in their lawsuit. Despite this, in the mean time the companies are trying to reach a settlement.

In a new future, the newer version of StarOffice will be lauched, and so Sun Microsystems has been charged for the version of this newer office productivity of Linux and Windows. Is this a good news by the way? According to Hesse Online, this feature under Linux and Windows will be licensed after the upgrade. The only no-price product that will be contributed is Solaris version of StarOffice 6.0.
